Kids Showcase Creativity in 4th of July Coloring Contest
The Leader-Herald received an outpouring of submissions for its annual 4th of July Kids Coloring Contest. The contest was open to children ages 12 and under, and participants were encouraged to express their patriotism and creativity through their artwork.
The entries, which featured a variety of artistic styles and interpretations, reflected the spirit of Independence Day. Children used bright colors, bold lettering, and imaginative designs to depict American flags, fireworks, and other patriotic imagery. Some entries even incorporated historical figures, such as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
The contest judges were impressed by the talent and enthusiasm displayed by the young artists. They carefully evaluated each entry based on originality, creativity, and overall execution. After much deliberation, three winners were selected in each age category.
Age 5 and Under Category
- First Place: Paisley Castricone, age 4
- Second Place: Anthony Sponsler, age 4
- Third Place: Gavin Walrath, age 3
Ages 6-8 Category
- First Place: Brielle Mravlja, age 8
- Second Place: Emma VanAlmelo, age 7
- Third Place: Ava DiLorenzo, age 7
Ages 9-12 Category
- First Place: Jenna Castricone, age 12
- Second Place: Gianna DiLorenzo, age 11
- Third Place: Lily VanAlmelo, age 9
The winning entries will be featured in the July 4th edition of the Leader-Herald. All participants will receive a certificate of participation for their efforts.
The contest not only provided children with a fun and educational activity but also fostered a sense of community and pride in their nation. The artwork submitted by the young artists showcased their patriotism and celebrated the spirit of Independence Day.
